The Vapor Barrier Liner (VBL) sock is designed for extreme cold conditions where condensation build up within boots is a huge risk. The VBL provides an added layer of protection from the cold by trapping the good moisture next to the skin, allowing your body to use its sweat to regulate warmth, and reducing loss of humidity by your insulating layers absorbing that moisture your body produces. Additionally the VBL inhibits outside water from working its way towards your foot to soak the next to skin layers that are so important. Our VBL is most effective if worn between a thin wool liner sock next to the skin and a heavier wool outer sock as part of a 3-layer system that creates this specific ecosystem with your boots.Specifications
